cetus lepetus!
my lands.. its been forever since i've had the chance to b-log up in here. Due to the prehistoric life style i've been living [without internet access at home] and a killer work schedual [literally.. killing me], i have just fallen off the blog planet. sadly.
but don't you worry your pretty little head. i'm still here, just unable to update.
since the last time i've:
1- gotten my first tattoo!
its adorable. its a cupcake on my foot and all kinds of colorful. teal and pink and yellow [cmyk much? i am dork extrodinare] for the cupcake, with a bright lime background. Amanda at CheapTrix did an amazing job and I plan on going back to her for all of my other tats]. pictures soonnnn!
2- Loves of my life!
Ran into the lovely Saradise at Coffee Cartel in August and its been stellar having her back in my life. Also, seeing Gina Beana again and having delightful concert adventures with her in podunk towns. Most notably of course, would be the sensational Keith Kennedy. more on that later though.
3- Gay Bars...
are my absolute favorite. Novak's has my heart. It should be noted that today is "National Coming Out Day", so I assume tonight it'll be hoppin. Yay!
Also:
the L word marathons, bedtime stories, a good chai tea, love letters, Cherokee street, walking around the city with a boom box, sitting in the grass outside on a beautiful fall day, knitting a love scarf, recieving mail, sugar cookies, dictionaries, new found abilites to translate french [what?! my love of foreign film is paying off!], holding hands, hard apple cider [most notably woodchuck amber], art mart employees, dancing in the car to 3oh!3 & Britney Spears, Nick & Nora's infinate playlist..so cute, learning that life is bigger then you and learning how to tolorate people and then realizing you [gasp!] might actually like them... if that made any sense at all, let me know.

zee list
1- In the Land of Women
a delightful story starring the always lovely Adam Brody [swoon], and Meg Ryan. if you like: painters, soft-core porn writers, crazy grandmas, long walks, teen angst, unexpected plot twists, or love letters.. then this is for you.

"I'm trying to wake you up! There's a big fucking world out there. It's messy, and it's chaotic, and it's never, it's never ever the thing you'd expect. It's ok to be scared but you cannot allow your fears to turn you into an asshole, not when it comes to the people that really love you, the people that need you."
here is zee trailer:
2- Brand New

i've been a fan of Brand New for a few years, and their lyrics still bring a smile to my face and a knife to my heart.
today, specifically, these videos:
"call me a safe bet. i'm betting i'm not"
"take me, take me back to your bed. i love you so much that it hurts my head. i don't mind you under my skin.. i'll let the bad parts in."
don't apologize, i hope you choke and die :]
3- this video
and dancin around to it. fan.tas.tic.
4- Paris Hilton for President
i'll see you at the debates, bitches!
this is amazing. loves it.
...and thats all folks. sorry its so... video centric.

Warped Tour 2008
being a seasoned warped tour attendee, i've created a survival kit for ya incase you weren't sure what to bring...

okay, lets start with what you'll wear.
outfit- I'd suggest wearing just a simple t-shirt, tank top, and shorts or a skirt. If it gets to unbearable outside, then you can just simply wear your tank top. also, keep accessories to a minimum.. just stick to earrings. done and done. A breezy sundress would also work well in this situation.
foot wear- wear flat shoes that are already comfy, I generally stick with good 'ole converse.. and socks. that way when you plop down on a grassy hill you wont get itchy prickly grass all over you and less bug bites on your legs. I'm going with hot pink tube socks this year. cute and comfy.
what to bring 101!
get yourself a big tote bag to toss all of these in and make sure you have enough room for merch :]
♥- sunblock.. its a no brainer. unless you want to be red and achy for a few days. re-apply every hour or so just to be safe
♥- cell phone.. well thats just a life necessity honestly. use it to call and tell your mom about your sweet new shirt and the awesome bands you just saw. she'll enjoy that im sure. i know mine would. :]
♥- water.. drink as many bottles as you can afford. really, do whatever you can to stay hydrated, cause dehydration sucks really bad. I actually eat before i leave and then don't eat all day usually just incase so i don't get sick. i just drink water, and lots of it.
♥- umbrella.. just incase of random downpours, but also useful for blocking out the sun. bring a small one and stash it in your bag
♥-digital camera.. because you're goin to be some gosh-darn close and you know you want you're friends to be jealous of your awesome day
♥- sunglasses.. forget these and you'll regret it
♥-moleskine & ink pen.. for jotting down stage timing and other important notions. really, i never leave the house without these
Just follow my lead, and you'll survive the day and come out alive, without sunburn and puking. fantastic!
I'm so excited i could pee. The bands that are gonna be in St. Louis own.

sex and the city, the movie... review
the Triumphant return of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha!!!!
honestly, I adored the movie from the moment it started.
it was like the final goodbye to your best friend, when you know its the last time you'll see them. I laughed, I cried.. I actually did both more then i thought i would.
The plot was very much so revalent to the show's, and there weren't any suprise[!] new twists that i wasn't expecting [in a bad way, really, there were plot twists a-plenty]
i'm never one to spoil an ending, but know that you'll be happy and you will love it.
seriously.
extreme happiness.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezer
to celebrate the coming out of their newest album [evidently already dubbed "the red album"], we here at CupcakeInk have been jamming out to much Weezer over the past few days. Honestly, i'm pretty sure that they are the perfect summah band. yes, yes they are.
here are a few of my personal favorites
Say It Ain't So
possibly one of the greatest driving songs ever written.
listen on repeat and the highest volume you can bear...
...so be cool
El Scorcho
"i'll bring home the turkey if you bring home the bacon"
i think this classic, drunken sing along, speaks for itself.
classic.
Hash Pipe
i remember sitting in the car with my older sister and hearing this song, at the time i was unaware of what a "hash pipe" was, but whatevs, simpler times. The beat is mad addictive and has me saying "WHOA come on a kick me" for hours in my head after hearing it.
Buddy Holly
one of the sweetest songs/music videos ever. that is all.
and last but not least....
Pork & Beans
the latest from the boys includes guest appearances from some of the most famous "internet celebs"... Tay Zonday & Chris Cocker !!!! be still my beating heart!
the awesome video aside, this riff feels like a throw back to classic old school weezer... which is just fantastic.
love!

crowing your beautiful life
its overdue it the most major way, especially for being a "grown ass 21 year old"

Gala will change your life!
love.
egads!
but here goes some more fantastic pop punk for your monday enjoyment....
i present you some old school Say Anything: alive with the glory of love
i do believe this was the first song i ever heard from good ole SA... back in 2005 at the creepy crawl during my first official show... oh to be a kid again...
enjoy :]

Clark & Michael
This little website has become my go to for awkward/hilarious fun times. Staring the amazing Clark Duke & Michael Cera... who are just....
ADORABLE
I think thats really all that needs to be said.
However, I will also tell you that it follows Clark & Michael adventures in making their own television show.

and that is all.
go forth and love it.
love.

fuck.

due to a recent turn of events,
i've given a lot of thought to the way i live and present myself. the things that matter to me and the things that i wish mattered....
when it comes down too it, life is way to fucking short to be worried about all of these minimal, trivial, bits of bullshit.
life is too short...
...to sweat the small stuff
...to have bad friends
...to not tell people you love them everyday
...to listen to bad music
...to waste time on people who don't deserve it
...to listen to the rumors
...to care about the rumors
...to sink to their level
...to care about them
love.

Modern Life Is War- R.I.P.
Sadly I was not in at MLIW's last show ever in StL tonight.
"Making come true our modest impossible dreams.
Stuck in public school classrooms at age 15.
Those long hot days just before the summer...
Knowing that we're stuck here...
And there's something happening somewhere.
Knowing we know we gotta get there.
It's true what they say...
Death is more perfect than life...
That's why we already died.
What could have been?
We don't wanna know.
Tonight we'll get our kicks.
Tonight we're all letting go!
'Cause we're all Dead Ramones!
Sore back!
Sore feet!
A ragtag army and we're sick in the heat.
We're not pretty and we're not rich.
We're gonna hafta fucking work for it.
It's our life!
We do what we choose!
Black Jeans.
Black Shirt.
Black Shoes.
Mom and Dad still don't approve.
Twenty eight shows.
28 days.
Pulling up new rogues all along the way.
I'm just another face in this desperate youth parade.
And all the bunk beds locked doors, hardwood, sweat,
Guts, skateboards, cold war bomb shelter basement screams, no sleep, good dreams.
We're playing hard as we can and a whole lotta time stuck in the van.
Reading the graffiti on every bathroom wall in truck stop fast food hell.
Save me from ordinary.
Save me from myself.
Another punk rock summer came and went
Now I just wanna go back home and turn up my stereo
Until the rhythm melts my bones 'cause I'm a Dead Ramone.
D.E.A.D.R.A.M.O.N.E.S."
i miss you already :[
and if you could put dumb in a shot-glass
who's had one too many.
Wednesday, May 16th was Mirthday at my school [my university's birthday, celebrated with a carnival and a free concert]
and all i can say about the free concert is wow...
just.. simply amazing.
:]
due to my friend's awesome planning/getting to the front of the stage skills... we literally got to the very very front.. and it was just awesome. the openers were: Tyga, Kidz in the Hall, & I am the Avalanche. they all tore it up and got the crowd ready for what was next...
without further adue....
GYM CLASS HEROES ! swoon!
we managed to get some great shots, so hurr they are :

yeah... we love travy.
i even got to talk to him. auhmazing!!!

i wish...
but not just any movie. oh no, that'd probably be quite disastrous.
and that just wouldn't do...
really though, i wish it was like:
Amelie.

why? well, first off, its one of my absolute favorite movies of all time. it fills me with hope and my heart full of love
[which is a feat in-it of itself, as i was completely unmoved by the romantic movie of choice for most ladies my age.. "the notebook", i found it completely dull and too cheesey... but thats a different story.]
seriously though, its one my go to movies when i've had an awful day. i just love to sit back and imagine that i'm a shy french girl living in paris, working as a waitress. that i go about my days dreaming about love and having conversations with my neighbor who has fragile bones and spends years working on paintings. silently looking over the people i love around me by creating little schemes to inspire and help them better they're lives.
however, the greatest part of the film, is the adorable cat & mouse game she plays with Nino. the quirky boy that collects torn up pictures from photobooths. by the end of the story they are so obviously in love without ever having actually met, but finally at the end, they meet for the first time and it so perfect and moving and everything that i would ever want out of a relationship: understanding and simple.
and that ladies and gents, is why i wish my life was more like the movie, Amelie. :]
love.

I officially ♥ polyvore
and so, this is what I wish I were wearing today. its classic, just a bit edgy [with the badass misfits sweater & AMAZING L.A.M.B. purse. *swoon*]. Perfection for shopping or a lunch date.

more to come!
love.

sadly underrated movies..
The Chumbscrubber

The Chumbscrubber is a dark satire about a seemingly perfect suburban town. It one of those films that totally fucks with you, making you wonder why exactly you're watching it. However, by the end it all comes together and everything makes sense. Also, the camera work is absolutely astounding...
American Psycho

American Psycho follows the life of Patrick Bateman [played by Christian Bale], a New York investment banker by day, blood thirsty killer by night. His excellent one liners: " You're a fucking ugly bitch. I want to stab you to death, and then play around with your blood." are hilarious and are even better the next time around.
Wet Hot American Summer

Wet Hot American Summer is a fantastic comedy that takes place on the last day of summer camp in 1981. Written by David Wain & Michael Showalter, this movie is golden. Plus, the cast includes almost all of my favorite comedians. Score!!
chachachacheck it out.
3.14.2008
fantastic new musics!!
might just be the best thing since sliced bread. They're indie music at its finest and all of their songs are infectious.
Tally Hall
I've been a fan of Tally Hall for a while now.. I first saw these boys open up for Ok Go back in 2006 and was smitten immediately. Their newest music video is for my favorite song off their debut cd "Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum".
How could you not love this?
love.
